Bid Manager: Manned Guarding: City of London

Due to business demand, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of Security and Risk Management solutions are now looking for an experienced and creative Bid Manager to join their team. As the Bid Manager for this security company you will coordinate responses from the wider bid team and have overall responsibility for all bids submitted with the primary objective being to deliver security related bids to A* standards to clients across the different vertical markets in which they operate such as Public Sector, FM, Corporate, Defence, Aviation etc.

What are they asking for?

It is essential that you have previous experience of working within the FM or Security industries. You will be a creative Bid Writer who has full knowledge in the techniques and methods of tender writing and can tailor tenders to specific client needs and expectations. Strong project management experience is also a must to ensure a well-planned, organised and controlled process as is the ability to take personal responsibility to drive the process forward. You will be confident in your ability to write responses for PQQ’s and tenders and research and produce relevant information; familiarity with the use of on-line tendering portals would also be advantageous. Good interpersonal and social skills are also an absolute must, as does providing an exceptional customer experience; treating all with respect and courtesy. The successful Bid Manager will possess a strong and persuasive writing style, being able to sell on paper along with creative thinking and writing skills. Excellent attention to detail, proof reading and research skills along with communication skills and the ability to influence others at all levels are also a must as is the ability to interpret complex information and present to the audience in a simplified and informative way.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Sales Team in the delivery of high quality pre-qualification and tender proposals.

  • Liaise with others within the business; predominantly department heads to gather information, ensuring responses are received in line with strict deadlines.

  • Creation + design of documents, to respond to Requests for Information (RFI’s), PQQ’s and Invitations to Tender (ITT’s), + the preparation of supporting information such as site-specific work documents and presentations, to ensure a continuous look and image is presented to the client.

  • Delivery of Tenders, Pre-qualifications and Presentations, working closely with the Senior Management team

  • Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant

  • Take part in the initial “kick off” meeting to discuss the RFI/RFP

  • To ensure all RFI/RFP’s responses are proof read and sense checked for accuracy.
