The Vacancy:

Palmer McCarthy have teamed up with one of the UK's leading experts in the field of Security to assist them in their search for a Business Development Manager to join their London based team. Working mainly in the commercial sector, they also have a broad portfolio of customers ranging from corporate offices and embassies to the self-storage sector and golf clubs.

What are they asking for?

The successful Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and growing profitable and sustainable new business year on year, you will also be expected to develop and maintain effective key relationships with customers. Therefore, it is essential that you have experience of working within the security sector as well as a solid understanding of physical, manned guarding security.

Possessing excellent communications skills and business acumen, you will be a driven individual who thrives on exceeding targets. You will have experience of identifying market trends and provide recommendations to respond to them that align with the company strategy.

The successful candidate will be able to provide a 5-year check-able work history as well be able to pass a security vetting check.

Responsibilities will include;

To contribute to the implementation of the company's strategic and operational plans

  • To contribute to marketing and promotional planning
  • Prepare monthly reports detailing activities and progress against established goals, identifying challenges and proposing action plans
  • Produce industry specific, market leading, business documents which at every stage promote and underpin the company's vision, mission and values
  • Research and contact new clients
  • Increase profitability through ensuring strategic and tactical management decisions and new business development results
  • Submit professional bids for new tenders
  • Attend seminars and exhibitions to increase visibility of the company to aid growth
  • Present proposals to new clients
  • Set up meetings between client decision makers and group COO
  • Attend seminars and exhibitions to increase visibility of the company to aid growth
  • Maintain current job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organisations
  • Promote our services to repair and maintain systems
  • Attend monthly Police, Council and Security forums etc.
