Job Description
Our client a leading security service provider requires an experienced Security Manager to oversee a team of 35-40 security personnel within an iconic London building.
Key Duties
- Managing the team on a daily basis dealing with any issues/problems arising
- Providing onsite training to Supervisors/Officers ensuring that training/personal files are kept up to date
- Organise and implement all Security Team rotas to ensure effective manning levels at all times
- Liaising with Security Control
- Oversee Control Room operation to ensure it operates to its full potential (providing control room cover when required)
- Giving morning briefings to the In-House Security Manager
- Ensure the Group major account is updated with all important developments on site
- Meet with the Contracts Manager on a weekly basis
- Managing the cover for all functions/events in the building including Tenant Liaison and working closely with Searcy’s
- Manage any disciplinary and grievance issues ensuring they are investigated thoroughly and procedures followed in liaison with Employee Relations
- Assist In-house Security Manager with overseeing incident management and initiating effective escalation
- Manage and delegate work to the four supervisors on site ensuring they perform to high standards
General Duties
- Ordering uniform for the team
- Booking annual leave for the team ensuring all shifts can be covered
- Closely monitoring team performance
- Booking overtime for the team
- General office administration
- Dealing with projects and or any work that the in-house Security Manager assigns
- Monitoring Security Patrols
- Carry out any tasks/instructions as requested by Senior Managers from Management Company
- Ensure Supervisors/Officers stick to best working practices
- Undertake appraisals for all Supervisors and action any training or development required as well as ensuring all other Appraisals are carried out effectively.
- Conduct recruitment interviews to ensure vacancies are filled with suitable caliber of staff
- Ensure new employees to the team have a full induction and training requirements are constantly monitored
- Ensure that all staff receive the relevant training in order to provide an excellent level of customer service
- Manage any absence and timekeeping issues within the team
- Deputise for the in-house Security Manager in City Security meetings and initiatives when requested to do so.
- Build and maintain positive relations with Tenant contacts
- Ensure monthly reports (Building Pass Production & Missing Visitor Passes) are sent to Building Management
- Conduct monthly out of hours visits
Health and Safety Security
- Manage and occasionally conduct Health and Safety inductions for Tenant staff who will be using the Car Park facilities
- Comply with the general requirements of Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
- Familiarise yourself with the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and to comply fully and at all times with the Company’s health, safety, welfare and fire arrangements
- Report immediately all accidents involving injuries and illness verbally to your Line Manager and a First Aider and make or have made on your behalf, an entry in the Accident Book
- To inform the Company immediately of any work situation which you reasonably consider represents a serious and immediate danger to health and safety or represents a shortcoming in the Company’s arrangements for health and safety

- Attend any training and development courses as necessary
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business
