A well-established National Manned Guarding and Protective Services group are looking for a Contracts Manager to manage a shopping centre in Greater London that boasts more than 100 retail outlets and eateries on the site. These guys are a top brand/employer looking after destination clients.

Reporting to the Account Director, you will be responsible for the overall efficient and effective management of the contract, providing an industry leading security service. You will be responsible for the management, development and training of all team members as well as ensuring the centre is compliant and run commercially in line with contract charges and requirements. Maintaining and building the client relationship, ensuring communication between all parties is dealt with in a timely and professional manner, driving company and site performance to ensure the best service is received by the client and the client’s guests.

What are they asking for?

You will be a fully licensed security (manned guarding) professional with relevant industry experience at Senior Management level. A decisive and assertive decision maker, who can interpret situations to proceed with a prioritised action plan that achieves the results required. It’s a given that you will be personable and credible in dealings with the team (officers) and you are a skilful negotiator who can resolve staff issues; Clients will also speak highly of your professionalism and customer focus

P&Ls and Budgets should be easy reading for you and you know how to interrogate them and improve as is a solid understanding and management of KPI's, SLA and SOP's. Excellent organisational and time management skills along with a positive attitude to dealing with people and taking on challenges are essential as are excellent report-writing and analytical skills with attention to detail. The ability to identify and improve areas of need, including the development of new procedures as well as knowledge of working within a public space environment are also an absolute must; experience of working within an events environment would be desirable.


  • Act as (when required) the Duty Manager for the centre, taking full responsibility for centre operation & ensuring the centre is operated in accordance with the standard operating requirements. Responsible for supporting and managing all the centre operations both inside and outside of trading hours together with weekends.

  • Lead in the planning and Centre preparations for emergencies, supported by risk assessments and documented, tried and tested procedures.

  • Rapidly assimilate information from all available sources to enable a solution to the problem be reached. Make significant strategic rational and objective decisions based on the current situational report ensuring that decisions and actions are documented, are effectively communicated and delegated to relevant parties.

  • Provide exceptional leadership, management and direction of all staff, make the best use of all available staff and their skills taking into account their health, safety and welfare, ensuring that all actions are compliant with both the Centre and corporate documented instructions.

  • To initiate and manage regular reviews of the assessments of risk under Health and Safety at Work Act. Ensuring that corporate and departmental Health and Safety policies and procedures are implemented at all times.

  • To grow, develop and lead all relationships with external agencies including local councils, police and other external agents. Build relations with senior members of shopping centre staff to ensure the highest standard of operational service levels are delivered by identifying and delivering solutions that add value to both the company and their client.

  • Keep abreast of the latest available technology and to make recommendations on the introduction of any suitable equipment/process. Manage contract supplies to include where required re-specify arrangements so as to optimize the cost, quality and efficiency of service.

  • Ensure the required Training is delivered to all staff and the required Training Targets are met.
