Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Security Manager (Operations) is responsible for the oversight of the security operation on a shift basis, ensuring excellence in the delivery and provision of our service to the client. Responsibility for managing the on shift security team and maintaining the professional standards expected. Providing the lead in incident management and a single point of contact for out of hours management enquiries. Additionally, the  organising, co-ordinating, reviewing and updating all of campus SOPs, Assignment Instructions, Site ISO audits, and working closely with the Shift Supervisors to ensure they are relevant and fit for purpose.

Secondary Responsibility

Working with other Security Managers’ (Operations)  to be responsible for all security related matters within the campus, ensuring the protection of infrastructure, safety of personnel and that all actions of the security teams have a positive impact on the reputation of the firm. All security matters must be dealt with in accordance with set policies and procedures, where applicable.The Security Manager (Operations) must work closely with the management team to provide a professional and efficient service to the client. The Security Manager is responsible for security training, HR welfare and disciplinary matters as well as Health & Safety. This will form part of the role as well as being an integral part of the account management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review all SOPs ensure they are kept up to date and fit for purpose.

  • Use his/her initiative during incident management.

  • Management responsibility for security training.

  • Manage welfare and disciplinary cases as appropriate as well as conducting investigations.

  • Carry out monthly KPI meetinClientwith Shift Supervisors and ensure adherence to the KPI document.

  • Carryout internal ISO audits to ensure compliance is maintained.

  • Provide support to the other Security Manager (Operations).

  • Mangement of Health & Safety throughout the campus.

  • Attend regular Company/Client weekly and monthly meetinClientand undertake internal investigations when required.

  • Ensure H&S documentation is up to date and reviewed regularly.

  • Carryout H&S surveys and prepare reports.

  • Regular visits to all officers on post in support of other Shift Supervisors.

  • Ensure all site survey reports are up to date and reviewed regularly.

  • Assist the Company Management team with compiling and monitoring service level agreements and key performance indicators.

  • Assist with event planning and management.

  • Prepare Documentation for Power downs and fire drills.

  • Work with the Supervisors, Administrator and HR department to manage disciplinary procedures.

  • Provide management of staff over all Client sites as required.

  • Any additional Management task as directed by the Account Director.

Key Competencies & Experiences:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Comfortable and capable in appropriately dealing with senior client personnel in a challenging environment.

  • The ability to work well under pressure.

  • Excellent decision making capabilities.

  • Good organisation skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple requests for information and prioritise accordingly.

  • Highly responsive and proactive, with the drive to take ownership of tasks from start to finish.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft software applications.

  • Willingness to assist other team members.

  • Ideally educated to ‘A’ level standard.
