Are you an experienced Security Lead Officer or a Security Supervisor that is seeking a new challenge within the Birmingham area? Following a recent move our client is now looking for a Security Supervisor to work on an Industrial Estate in Birmingham covering 80 acres. The site benefits from 24-hour manned security as well as a up to date ANPR system. The role of the Security Supervisor is to ensure the overall smooth running of the estate and supporting the site Manager in ensuring that the estate is a safe and pleasant environment for tenants and customers alike at all times.

Candidates will be required to demonstrate the following:
Essential:

Experience in the provision of security services at supervisory level, in a busy environment, visited by members of the public.

Full UK driving License

In order to comply with the Security Industry Act 2001, officers must hold a valid SIA Security Licence and where necessary a Public Space Surveillance Licence.

Effective people management skills & good team building skills.

Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations

A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of legislative health & safety requirements.

Ability to demonstrate excellent levels of customer service, at all times.

Honest and reliable work ethic.

Willingness to partake in on-site training for emergency procedures.

Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Willingness to adopt a flexible approach to work patterns and work weekends/evenings as and when required.

Accurate record keeping with good attention to detail
Desirable:

Operational experience within an industrial park environment.

Ability to use full range of Microsoft applications inc. Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.

Experience of direct liaison with Police, Fire and Government Enforcement office.

The candidate attributes detailed above are considered to be non-essential although training will be provided on more technical aspects of the role.
What are they offering?
- Salary £26,000
- Working Hours Monday – Friday 18:00hrs – 06:00hrs (the successful candidate will be required to work 1 weekend per month)
Responsibilities will include;

Ensure the overall effectiveness and efficiency of security and customer care provision.

Supporting the site manager in achieving the aims and objectives of the estates security function.

Ensure Security Officer and Control Room Operatives are performing their duties to the appropriate standard.

Provide feedback on the performance of Security Officers to the Site Manager.

Provide ongoing support, guidance and training for Security Officers, advising them of how to improve their performance where required.

Completion of rotas for all security staff on site.

Updating of ANPR systems on site to ensure access/egress is controlled effectively.

Supporting the site manager by completing monthly welfare checks with security officers.

Report any significant security incidents, to the relevant Manager and assist in ensuring a full investigation has been completed to establish all facts.

Support Site Management through encouraging communication among tenant security providers.

Ensure all aspects of routine health and safety checks are followed, in particular those identified within the personnel and procedures manual.

Co-ordinate the evacuation of the estate in an emergency in accordance with the estates evacuation plan.

Reporting any maintenance or health and safety issues to the relevant manager.

Ensure close liaison with the local Police and encourage communication amongst tenant security providers
