The Vacancy:

One of the UK’s leading suppliers of security solutions across the public and private sector are now looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join their team. Your primary function will be to provide proactive and professional generalist Human Resource advice and support to a portfolio of site and support managers across the organisation, in turn assisting the business with achieving its overall aims and objectives with responsibility for minimising and managing risk to the company.

What are they asking for?

They are looking for someone who is self-motivated and able to maintain a high standard of personal presentation, has a demonstrable career in Human Resources, with previous experience of managing TUPE transfers combined with a strong background in dealing with employee relations issues. Ideally you will be part qualified for or studying toward the completion of your CIPD (or above), possess the ability to interact effectively with both internal and external customers at all levels, be completely self-sufficient - as this role is based remotely from the wider Human Resources Team you will be expected to cover the North, Midlands, and the South West Regions so therefore this role will involve a great deal of travel.

An ability to demonstrate proactive and innovative thinking, introducing this to the workplace -combined with excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines are a must as are strong client /customer orientation skills. It is a given that you will possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, being able to adapt your style to meet the needs of the situation.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting senior managers with managing change within the organisation. To provide advice on process for any personnel changes and to identify and communicate risks to the business.

  • Providing timely and accurate business focussed advice to management teams on Company policy and procedure which assists them in providing a more effective service to our customers.

  • Reporting on trends and challenging sector management on working practices, processes and team performance.

  • To coach and advise the divisional management teams in employee relations and industrial relations issues as they arise, providing suggestions and remedies to minimise and manage people related risk

  • Manage the diversity of the workforce linking with workforce planning and talent management.

  • Devise, review and update HR related development workshops and seminars for middle and junior manager grades. Identifying training needs through the process of employee relations support and addressing accordingly.

  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with operational resourcing and development staff to ensure cohesive policy development and implementation.

  • Review policies in line with legislation change, case law and specific employee relations cases, making any changes that may be required. Ensure HR complies with IMS. Sell changes to the operational teams advising them of the impact of these changes.

  • To assist with the employee engagement strategy to support the organisation structure (including core values and behaviours)

  • Lead the HR service, deliver on relevant project mobilisations

  • Deliver employee relations projects as required by the business in a commercially astute way

  • Develop sector managers to improve employee relations across area of responsibility
