The Vacancy.

One of the UK’s largest suppliers of facility services across the Public and Private sectors now have an opportunity for an experienced Security Manager to join their team. Working on a client specific account located in Slough and reporting directly to the National Security Manager, the successful Security Managers primary focus will be to manage and develop a team of 30 security personnel as well as assist in overseeing the compliant delivery of all Security Services offered by the company and its suppliers to their client. You will assist with both the development and management of the security client relationships, security officers’ welfare, and suppliers’ performance, driving continuous improvement, value for money and ultimately customer satisfaction. Assisting the National Security Manager as directed within the account and supporting the FM and other central service teams with overall service delivery therefore ensuring that the ‘Central Services’ team support Operations to deliver service excellence.

You will live within patch but will be able to travel nationally on occasion, therefore a driver’s licence is essential as is a valid SIA licence. As an experienced security management professional, you will be able to demonstrate a strong customer and client focus in the corporate arena.  Your career to date will point to experience of coordinating a security team or services along with full awareness of Security related issues; at interview you will be able demonstrate an ability to motivate, lead and develop people with the confidence to interface across all levels of the organisation. Responsibilities:

  • To act as the subject matter, go to person and single point of contact in all elements of security, asset protection and counter terrorism, within your defined region and to act as understudy and support to the National Security Manager

  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships as directed by the National Security Manager

  • Leading and developing the security function within your defined region and as directed within the wider account to maximise performance and quality of service.

  • Assist the National Security Manager as directed to provide oversight on all aspects of security planning and delivery identifying areas for improvements and driving change in manned services, electronic security systems, remote security management, key holding services and risk management.

  • Act as an advisor to our customers, spending quality time with them to review their business requirements with the aspiration of becoming an essential part of any decision-making process they are involved in with regards to security and associated services.

  • Support the National Security Manager to manage and provide direction, guidance and support to other teams in the provision of all elements of service provision ensuring they can carry out their roles efficiently and effectively, with their objectives met through effective planning, allocation and monitoring of work.

  • To create, maintain and enhance effective working relationships with people working within their control, other people within the organisation, the Client, Customers and Suppliers to ensure objectives are met.

  • To assist the National Security Manager in managing and evaluating objectives and targets for the Security Sector, producing individual Business Plans and regional objectives to ensure all requirements are met within the Telefonica security sector. This will involve interpreting Client and organisational objectives, setting team and individual objectives and targets and monitoring through to successful delivery.

  • To assist the National Security Manager in the compilation of the Account Development Plan.

  • To assist the National Security Manager to evaluate proposed or required changes to services, identifying financial, personnel and operational performance opportunities/implications and assist in any contract variation/change process as required.
