Job Description

Due to significant growth over the past 18 months the Client, a first-class provider of integrated Fire, Security, TV and Data solutions, is now looking for a highly competent System Surveyor to join their ambitious and dynamic team. The Systems Surveyor is responsible for growing existing business as well as securing new business with both prospective and existing clients alike with a specific focus on small works, system upgrades and new systems. What are they asking for?

The Systems Surveyor is responsible securing new business with prospective and existing clients alike, generating leads from a variety of sources (e.g. company database, referrals, self-generated etc.) to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities. Persuasive and credible with ability to sell concepts and ideas by gaining commitment, you will be able to identify potential clients and the decision makers within the client organisations; building and developing relationships will come naturally to you both over the telephone and face to face as will the ability to plan approaches, pitches and presentations. Identifying a clients’ needs and objectives will come naturally to you as will the ability to cost opportunities identified. Although experience of working / designing and planning of electronic security systems is a must, previous sales experience is not necessary.

What are they offering?

  • Salary – £30k (base) per annum + Commission (OTE - £40k+) + Car Allowance

  • Hours of work – 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

  • Holidays - 20 per year (increasing annually to a maximum of 25 days after 5 years) plus 8 Bank holidays


  • Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining and leveraging your network

  • Build relationships with existing and prospective clients ensuing regular contact

  • Undertake site surveys, design systems and produce written reports of requirements

  • Record all leads within CRM/sales pipeline

  • Keep up to date records with all necessary documentation and information, both hard and soft copy

  • Ensure compliance with all specifications, legislations and stakeholder groups

  • Manage and monitor job costs and budgets and maximise gross profitability

  • Develop & maintain a suitable level of technical competency for a range of systems and legislation/compliance

  • Work in accordance with the company’s ethos and culture to ensure that the clients’ needs are met and feedback is received for continuous improvement

Experience / Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of the security industry

  • Experience with electronic security systems as is experience of designing and planning systems

  • Previous experience in engineering

  • Excellent communication skills
