Salary & Package: Up to £70k base + 1% commission on new business
Introduction:
Palmer McCarthy has been retained as sole agent to recruit a Senior Business Development Manager for one of the UK’s top 10 manned guarding companies, a highly respected and prestigious business with significant investment for growth. This is a unique opportunity to lead business development and sales across the M25 and M4 corridor, with additional opportunities considered across the wider region between London and Birmingham.
The Role:
You will be responsible for driving business development and sales in manned guarding and security services, identifying, targeting, and converting opportunities into profitable contracts. The focus is primarily on manned guarding contracts, with selective scope for temporary services such as key holding, mobile patrols, and CCTV monitoring. You will target property managing agents, logistics, warehousing, data centres, business parks, and direct corporates, expanding the company’s security footprint in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a strategic territory plan for business development and sales in manned guarding.
Identify, pursue, and convert new security business opportunities across key sectors.
Lead client pitches and meetings, confidently presenting manned guarding and security solutions to senior decision-makers.
Network across the market and attend relevant industry events to strengthen the company’s security sales presence.
Maintain an active pipeline using CRM and reporting tools, ensuring business development targets are met.
Plan and execute activity autonomously to maximise growth in manned guarding and security sales.
What We’re Looking For:
Proven business development and sales hunter with manned guarding/security sector experience.
Track record of delivering substantial revenue – expected to achieve ~£1m new business in year one, with ongoing annual target ~£2m TCV.
Proactive, commercially sharp, and able to plan and execute independently in security business development.
Excellent networking, relationship-building, and communication skills, capable of winning new manned guarding clients.
